My simple definition of “Cusp Generation” is the generation between our parents generation and next generation. Assuming if you around my age group then you are in “Cusp Generation”.
Cusp Generation people had the advantage of starting the life in some what normal pace and had the opportunity in living with reasonable size of families. May be you also had the privilege of growing in some sort of village atmosphere and in nature. And, you would have seen parents hardship to support you and their keen interest to accumulate some thing for you so that you will be “settled”. And you would have grown along with the economic and technology advancements. So you had the best of both black and white experience as well the colorful life. Whenever you are frustrated with your boss you still can say you will leave all these and go back to your village to do farming ( Whether you go or not is a different story). So you can flex a bit between the choices available. Also, I am sure you have some real good friends ( I don’t mean Facebook friends). You still read paper books and kindle books. You can preach good values from your parents to your kids and at the same act like most advanced parent by buying an iPad for your 5 yr old kid. So many benefits the cusp generation have enjoyed and can enjoy. That’s why you should celebrate more..
On the lighter side, you were controlled by your parents and now your kids will control you. This is called “Sandwich Generation”.
I am not going to start how bad our next generation will be, blah blah…We can’t stop technology advancements. Humans have tendency to invent some thing and take it to the extreme and then try to reverse it with “Green” or “Organic”. So this is cyclic and goes on. Next generation will find their juice differently.
All you can do now is cherish all your memories and live best of the both. Basically celebrate the cusp life and suck maximum juice out of life. Later on there will be only “packet juice” and not much to suck other than stuck with devices.
