While innovation requires different kind of minds, as always, we end up “Industrializing” everything. Now we are in the phase of “Industrializing Innovation” as well. What does this mean? This simply means come up with different means and ways of innovating by any one. Basically, trying to democratize so that everyone would be in a position to innovate.
All over the world, there are many processes/methods/tools have been developed and continue to get developed to standardize innovation process. Fundamentally, the real need of any innovation is solving a visible or invisible problems. Now most talked about problem solving process and one of my favorite is “Design Thinking”. We will talk about Design Thinking in the up coming blogs.
Main point here is there will be a set of people (Innovators) who will go on inventing new things and at the same or more speed another set of people (Commoditizers) who make any thing and every thing as standard stuff. Of course, it is a good news for people who are not original innovators but can “learn to be an innovator” and the bad news for the original innovators is they need to pace further to innovate at much faster speed.
Obviously there will be less value if you are following the commoditized innovation cycle..actually by this time this not an innovation but industrialization. But still you get a chance to be in the innovators circle and get some temporary satisfaction. And the original innovators need to keep pushing themselves every day.
Bottom line is soon Innovation is going to industrialized and by in parallel something new will come. And this cycle will go on…
